Japanese Seinen Association of Montreal (JSAM) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of Japanese culture throughout the Greater Montreal area. Organizing activities and events is our way of bringing people together and making a positive impact on the community!
Vision
How we envision our community in the future
As part of our vision, we aim to build a community where people can help each other by developing relationships with Japan and discovering hidden facets of its culture. It is important for us to serve as a cultural bridge between Montreal and Japan.
Moreover, we want Japanese visitors to feel at home in Montreal and eliminate any language or cultural barriers they may encounter.

JSAM's activities reflect on 3 fundamental goals that have been set based on its core values and vision.
Promoting the
Japanese culture
Japan has a very rich cultural heritage! We want to introduce local Montrealers to some facets of the culture they might not already know and give them a chance to experience them!
Bringing Montreal
to the world
Although Montreal is one of Canada's largest cities, it is little known in Japan. We would like to increase the exposure of our wonderful city by highlighting its unique blend of European and North American cultures.
Strengthen bonds
within the community
The Japanese community in Montreal is so small compared to other East-Asian communities. A stronger bond between the different members of our group will enhance our collaboration opportunities!
Event
We organize a variety of events that will allow Montrealers to experience Japanese culture and bring them joy and happiness. Many important events take place in the local community, such as the J-ON Concert, a Japanese music and dance performance, and Taikusai, a Japanese sports festival. There are many more events coming up!
